Benjamin Dorsey, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CDFA™, MST is the Director of Tax Services at Cassaday & Company, Inc. As a Certified Public Account, Ben’s expertise and passion is centered around comprehensive tax planning that maximizes clients’ long-term and short-term goals.   

Partnering with our clients’ advisory teams, Ben works collaboratively to plan, analyze, and implement tax-efficient strategies that align with each client’s financial plan. While he does not prepare tax returns for our clients, his focus on best-practice tax strategies allows Cassaday & Company, Inc. to provide up-to-date, congruent advice pursuant to our integrated, comprehensive wealth management strategy.

Prior to joining Cassaday & Company, Inc., Ben worked in a variety of roles at regional and global public accounting firms, in addition to wealth management firms. He has extensive experience in consulting with high-net-worth individuals as it relates to their respective income, fiduciary, estate, and charitable tax planning goals and compliance requirements.

Ben is a Personal Financial Specialist, a designation reserved for CPA’s who wish to extend their expertise beyond traditional accounting and tax strategies by offering more comprehensive wealth management advice. Ben also holds the title of Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®). A CDFA® combines financial planning, accounting, and taxation expertise to assist clients and their counsel on understanding the financial implications of divorce settlements. Ben is not registered with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. or Cassaday & Company, Inc.

Ben is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Towson University, and a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Baltimore.

Ben currently lives in suburban Maryland. When he’s not spending time with his daughter Bailey, he enjoys attending D.C. area sporting events, and was an ecstatic attendee in Las Vegas when the Capitals won their first Stanley Cup.
